Eight stalwart evening riders set off from Akva. We speculated that numbers might be down because of the nice weather. After all, it can't have been the intense birthday celebrations the night before.
Alan took us straight down Fountainbridge to Gibson Terrace, then turned left onto the canal. A neat way of dodging the canal works. Then down Harrisson Park and Harrison road, Crossing Gorgie Road and into Russell road, where we ascended the zigzags took up the rather pleasant Roseburn and Granton Access paths to Silverknowes, past the golf course and down to the proms.
A nice slow run Westwards along the prom took us, past some free range dogs, to the ice cream van location. A wee spin back down the prom found us at the Waterfront estate, and the red bridge, where a few spun off, we exited Roseburh path via Balbirnie Place and Haymarket Yards. Three were then left to clumb up the bumps to Fountainbridge, and landed in the pub of the same name for an istonic restorative.
